The Met Office said the UK will not experience heatwave until mid-August although high temperatures have sweltered some parts of Europe over the weekend.

While certain parts of Europe have been sizzling in unrelenting heatwaves with temperatures well above 40C in recent days, the Met Office predicts that the UK will not see any blistering summer weather until at least mid-August.

Showers are predicted to fall across the country this week, while the strong winds that were reported across the country over the weekend are likely to subside on Monday (July 17). Heavy rain is anticipated in central and northern England, Wales, and Northern Ireland on Tuesday, with temperatures not rising beyond 20C.
