Exclusive: No rule automatically awards Motherwell FC three points from Killie postponement
The game was put off after six Killie players tested positive for coronavirus, resulting in their entire squad being asked to self-isolate for 14 days.
That followed discussions on Friday morning between Kilmarnock, NHS Ayrshire and Arran, the Scottish Government, Public Health Scotland and the Scottish FA.

Hide AdAlthough Killie forfeited tonight’s Betfred Cup tie against Falkirk, who were awarded a 3-0 win, the Motherwell Times can confirm that such a rule does not exist for league games.
Therefore an SPFL investigation into the circumstances leading to the postponement of the game is ongoing.
We understand that the SPFL will be trying to establish if Killie did everything in their power to avoid a postponement before a potential disciplinary hearing could see the East Ayrshire side sanctioned with a fine or a match forfeit.
But if the league decide that Killie couldn’t have done anything differently to avoid the ’Well postponement, the game will just be rearranged.
