Raising of the flag to mark Armed Forces Day 2018

East Renfrewshire Council headquarters hosted the annual Armed Forces Flag Raising yesterday (Monday, June 25).

Armed Forces Day is a national celebration designed to give people the opportunity to show support for the men and women who make up the armed forces community – from serving soldiers to service families and from veterans to cadets.

The flag raising ceremony was held at the park’s pavilion to honour the contribution of our Armed Forces, past and present as part of a countrywide programme of events to celebrate and recognise our dedicated servicemen and women.
