Opening date set for Eastwood pools
East Renfrewshire Council was forced to close both pools on September 8 as chemical readings taken during routine water quality tests did not meet acceptable levels.
The council assured swimmers that the issue “posed no threat to public health”, but closed the pools in a bid to resolve the problem.

Hide AdSand filters used to remove debris from the water have been replaced, and improvements are also being made to the facility’s plumbing.
An ERC spokeswoman said: “The provision of swimming pool water that is of the highest quality is our absolute priority.
“We appreciate that people have been inconvenienced by this and we apologise but please be assured that we are working to resolve this as soon as possible. We expect the pool to be open on Monday 6 October.”
