Farewell event for closure of Lenzie Primary
From August, pupils will take up residence in the new £11.5m Lenzie Meadow Primary nearby but there will be a fitting farewell at a special exhibition and event in the school today (Wednesday, June 15) to celebrate its proud 130-year history.
The specially-curated exhibition will feature memorabilia, photos and artefacts from the last century. It runs from 3.30-8pm.

Hide AdHeadteacher Janice Thomson said: “The exhibition will display old class photographs, stories from the archives and historical objects which are sure to guarantee a walk down memory lane for anyone with links to the school. I predict laughter and tears.”
Council Leader Rhondda Geekie will attend the event and added: “The children have been working hard to produce drawings and stories to mark the last year of the school.”
Everyone who attends will receive a commemorative postcard featuring a school photo taken at the turn of the century and a photo of the final pupils to grace the corridors of the Victorian school.
