Czech mate – sausage firm says there will be no impact on local firm

Sausage skin maker Devro – based in Moodiesburn – recently reported a fall in profits, despite a rise in sales. The company has nearly completed a £25m capital expansion programme at its plant in the Czech Republic, one month ahead of schedule and within budget.
A spokesperson insisted: “Moodiesburn is absolutely fundamental to Devro. There are no plans to scale it back, whatsoever. Moodiesburn has also had a recent investment.”
